To be able to own a home is one of the basic needs for every human being. Social housing plays a crucial role for every civilised society since it provides the opportunity for people with lower incomes to be able to afford a home, create spatial and social bonds as well as being a part of a community.
The proposal is anchored by two open public spaces; east and west of the site; which are connected by a continuous path throughout the site, giving the opportunity for social and playful interactions between its users. The concept of shared space and communal living continues through to the building design. The shared corridors on each floor act as the connecting area between the apartments; generating meeting points of social interactions between the residents, while reinforcing the notion of a vertical neighbourhood.
