The concept of processing – “customizing” is often a major component of the organization and the composition of our projects. One of the most completed implementation has been achieved in Anapaftiki Chair Revisited. On the traditional furniture of Anapaftiki Chair an adjustable metal lifting mechanism is attached that holds a wooden viewing box with an integrated digital screen. The user can lie back, relax on the chair, lower down the viewing device at eye level and watch the projected material on the digital screen. Weights mounted on the back of the lifting mechanism enable resetting the viewing box in the initial upper position so the user may lift.
Seven copies of Anapaftiki Chair Revisited have been key-part of the exhibit in the Cyprus Pavillion at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition la Biennale di Venezia. In the stereotypical scenery of a beach, the customized sunbeds generate conditions of alternative relaxation and communication at multiple levels between the users.
